The term "Muslim notables" wasn't used in Callinicos' article, but in fact
we have never hidden our politics in Respect, and we have always been open
about wanting to work with the best reformists. This is what we do with
people like the excellent Tony Benn in the StWC. He is someone who would
never deny being a reformist, and I don't think anyone in the SWP has
anything but respect for the man. People like Benn have been working with
us for years and have never experienced any difficulty in doing so. In
fact, as the document makes clear, we have a long tradition of working with
reformists in, for example, the ANL. We have always preferred a smart
reformist to a dumb sectarian, and we will continue to argue for such a
strategy.

I can only repeat my point that you seem to prefer non-sequitur and total
neglect of the details of this case. It's a pity, because several
commenters on LT have already pointed out exactly how and why you are
mistaken on this point, and you have been utterly graceless in refusing to
acknowledge those corrections, much less engage with them.
