[Psych3120] color blind

i have a friend that is color blind, but cna't see any difference between 
blue and purple.  are the blue cones missing that cause the vision problem?

If someone has a brain injury and becomes colorblind (like the colorblind
painter), will they still be able to see color in their dreams, memories.
