Another opinion on the article....
    My husband is a physician and questioned whether the numbers in this 
article are high enough.  He works with these types of machines, the ones 
with bells and whistles, as he is an Anesthesiologist.  He pointed out that 
the nursing staff is overworked and given to much to do, too many patients. 
This makes it difficult for them to be in so many places at one time and to 
meet the needs of their patients.  Also, there are so many false alarms with 
these machines that they get used to hearing them and may not respond 
immediately.
