Subject: RE: Space Planning Student Focus Group

Dear Advisors,
Dean Rudd has asked that we conduct a space planning student focus group scheduled Tuesday, November 20th from 3:30 - 4:00 p.m. in 336 OSH. The college has several projects in the works, please see Dean Rudd's message below, and he would like to hear from students regarding their needs. He has asked that a student from each department and program be involved. We ask that each of you find one student to represent your area to attend. Please provide me their contact information as soon as possible.
Thank you,

From: M David Rudd

Subject: Building Campaign Update
Importance: High

Dear Colleagues:
Please be sure to share with and update your faculty members, staff and students about the building campaign on a regular basis. Please feel free to simply forward this email. As this impacts every corner of the college, it's critical to keep faculty and staff informed. We held our first "visioning meeting" today, laying out the framework that will be guiding the study. This is genuinely historic for the college. The architects conducting this initial study will be meeting with all departments and units over the course of the next three weeks. In addition to the study, we have the following in process:

1. We're moving forward with getting the Child and Family Services Building off the ground (i.e. getting a meeting set with the BOT).

2. We have over $5 million in renovation and reconfiguration projects underway in the college (see a previous email for the summary of projects).

3. The University International Building will be breaking ground soon and will definitely include the Hinckley Institute of Politics. It's possible that a few other units may be involved as well.

4. The seismic stabilization of the SBS Tower will start in July (planning will begin shortly for impacted areas).

5. The building study will frame the next 5-10 years and set priorities for the various new building projects (including fundraising efforts).

Again, I will share updates as they become available, please be sure to disseminate this information to all faculty members and staff. It should be an exciting time for the college.
Warm Regards, David
