Subject: [ugs_administrators] Sad News about Beverly Brehl
It is with heavy heart that I write to you today. I have learned that our friend Beverly passed away this morning at home surrounded by her family. I am afraid do not have more details than this. I have been in contact with her sister, who indicated the family is doing as well as could be expected.
Beverly leaves behind her husband (Jeremy), three-year old son Jack, sister (Pat) and her parents in Toronto. She also leaves behind hundreds of friends, colleagues and students. She was an important part of the CTLE and UGS family.

I hope all is going well with all of you. I have on my schedule to give you brief updates on Beverly every month around the 15th. This month I thought I would send it out early because next week Beverly is going to Disneyland. I know that many of you had contributed to the fund set up to send her and I know you would be interested in knowing she is heading to the magic kingdom. She is very excited as is Jack and Jeremy. They are leaving on Monday and will be back for the weekend. Week days during February is one of the best times to go (yes, I have been to disney enough to make that statement) and she will be fully prepared to head on her way. They will be joined by her sister who now lives in SLC and her best friend from Ontario and her family. I had lunch with her on Monday where I shared the Tripeny plan for getting the most out of her trip. My wife's last piece of advice to her was to forget everything I said and just have a great time!
Beverly's health has improved since the last time I emailed you. She spent some time in January staying up at Huntsman Cancer battling pneumonia but has moved passed that. Her voice has returned as has her endurance and zest for life. The battle with cancer continues to be a hard battle and the spread continues. She is getting her second chemo of the year today. There are many health issues, both big and small, that have to do with her battle she is facing. Her spirits are high.
If you want to send her a email sendoff her email address is still beverly.brehl at utah.edu<mailto:beverly.brehl at utah.edu> .
