Look, professor, we discussed this once before. When I'm tackling
subjects like NEP, socialist ecology, WWII, "democratic centralism", I
usually read thousands of pages to make sure I have my facts right. I am
in the middle of Neil Harding's "Lenin's Political Thought" and have made
some amazing discoveries about the context in which the
Bolshevik-Menshevik split took place. You save your best efforts for the
classroom and obscure academic journals, while reserving the internet for
whatever little thought pops into your noggin. I save my best efforts for
the internet and wouldn't be caught dead in a classroom. This forum is
not like a faculty lounge to me. Rather it is an important space where I
can investigate and report on some vexing problems facing the left in the
late 20th century.
