Jim remarked that my suggestion that parameters for formal
models of capitalism can not be freely chosen was reminiscent
of the anthropic principle. That is a matter of interpretation,
I would see it more as a respect for reality. If one wishes to
simulate airflow round a wing, one can not make an arbitrary
choice of Reynolds number, though if one is only interested
in certain very general properties of hydrodynamic models one
