One very interesting area, which I have only just begun to think about,
is the way the internet can help revolutionaries get beyond the
hierarchical forms of organisation that have limited their vision since
"leninist democratic centralism" was foisted upon them as the only road
to revolution. Many of the pressures that exist in small left groups are
absent on mailing lists and newsgroups, and people have less patience
with vacuous recitations of party lines. There is therefore a greater
responsibility for participants to think and write for themselves, and to
check their own sources of information where it is important. This is not
to say that it is an answer to all the problems of organisation, but it
does change some things.
