Thanks for the summary, Lisa.

Pack has presented Schumpeter's _Capitalism, Socialism and Democracy_
fairly, but in my opinion it's one of the worst things he ever
wrote. It seems to be his "nod" to the classic (economic) vision
of a stationary state, and has such nonsense lines as "even the
bourgeoisie will be disinclined to defend" capitalism eventually.

He has far better work on cumulative causation, and the history
of economic thought, elsewhere. But I'm not amazed to see the
loony right latching on to the worst of his prose.
