CALL FOR PAPERS

"THE LIMITS OF PHILOSOPHY"
THIRD ANNUAL PHILOSOPHY GRADUATE STUDENT CONFERENCE
DEPAUL UNIVERSITY, CHICAGO
MAY 16-18, 1996

What are the limits of philosophy? What are the limits within
philosophy? What are the limitations of philosophical discourse? How is
philosophy crossed and limited by institutional practices like science,
technology, politics, art, literary criticism, psychoanalysis, and
feminist theory? How does philosophy relate to its own limits, its
origin, its historicality, and its ends? What questions, finally, are
off limits for philosophy?

Please send three copies of papers, detailed abstracts, or panel
proposals, along with separate cover sheet listing author name(s),
address, phone/e-mail to:

Graduate Conference Committee
Department of Philosophy
DePaul University
1150 West Fullerton
Chicago, IL 60614

The deadline for submission is March 1, 1996. Feel free to address
questions via e-mail to David Pekerow (dpekerow at condor.depaul.edu).
