Former Yugoslavia miscellany

Some other good things to read on the Wars of Yugoslav Succession.
Bob Donia and John Fine, BOSNIA AND HERCEGOVINA: A TRADITION
BETRAYED. Extremely fast, schematic, and relentless argument for BiH's
pluralist identity. The authors are experts on Bosnia (medieval,
19th-century, and current, esp.) and do a fine job of presenting data to
support their wrath. Just out in trade pb.
Noel Malcolm, SHORT HISTORY OF BOSNIA. Another general survey,
more anecdotal, but satisfying. Trade pb, Penguin (I think.)
Misha Glenny, FALL OF YUGOSLAVIA. Odd, anecdotal series of
impressions of various scenes more or less worked into a coherent
argument. Some great stories, odd opinions. Penguin, cloth for certain.
for military details, James Gow's articles and early books are
excellent.
