Louis: Look carefully at the hatred directed toward the "slobs" making
over $50,000 a year. This is the same type of seething petty-bourgeois
rage that the Mark Rudd generation felt toward its parents in Scarsdale.
The joke, of course, is that focusing on income rather than relationship
to the means of production is typical Sociology 101 and not Marxism.
