The cross-posting ban was put in mainly because of the way that
cross-posts were being used, not that c-p is very bad in itself.  It
was a "technical" fix to a "social" problem, perhaps, but there it
is.

Other methods of "cross-fertilization" abound, but few people have
used them.

As for a list of posts by subject line, in chronological order, it
already exists.  It is the index file in the archives.  The entire
text of every post is also available for reading in the archives.
Very few lists have private archives, but M2 archives have always
been public.

Is all this not enough, Chris?
