No...CP members, according to Harrold Issacs in his book, the
Tragedy of the Chinese Revolution, were members of the KMT,
specifically its so called "progressive" wing. Of course the KMT
had associated membership in the Comintern from around 1924 (I
think). The KMT was organized along the model of the Communist
Party (circa 1927) and retains a "central committee" and
"political bureau" to this day.

Ironically, most members of the CCP who went to Moscow during the
20s actually ended up joining the Left Opposition, especially
after the disasterous Comintern policy that lead to the defeat of
the revolution.
