moderation

Our idiot new system here somehow managed to dump me
>from this list and I have only just gotten back on.
Anyway, I'm not sure where the discussions of the new
moderated general list are, but I have a suggestion which I
sent to this list last week but which never showed up on my
screen. If this is a repeat, I apologize.
On ecol-econ there is a volume limit. But it is not
one per day which would cut people off when they are hot on
an interesting thread. It is that the last eight messages
one has sent not exceed 12% of the last 100 messages sent
to the list. Obviously there could be variations on that.
One could fire away for awhile, but then one would have to
shut up for awhile.
I think that this also has the virtue of avoiding
having moderators play commissars or shrinks, although I
realize that there are some out there who might like to.
After all, if everybody got their way as to who would not
be on the list, there would be no Trotskyists, no Maoists,
no state capitalists, no Stalinists, no revisionists, no
anarchists, no social democrats, no market socialists, no
believers in religion, no... There might only be Louis
Proyect talking to himself in an echo chamber (actually
there would be no Louis Proyect either). There would be no.
