Yes, if by movement you mean like setting up chapters of the Rainbow
Coalition in Illinois in 1984. But if you mean a movement that has an
intellectual component, such as the kind expressed in journals like
"Capitalism, Nature and Socialism", you are dead wrong. You seem blissfully
unaware of the interest that Marx and Engels had in such 'abstruse'
questions throughout their career. John Bellamy Foster's question in the
introduction of "Marx's Ecology" seems germane here: "Why did Marx engage
in the systematic study of natural and physical science throughout his life?"
