Please find attached a very good note on income distribution and
neoliberalism in Latin America. The author is an Argentinian
economist who sent the note to a major newspaper for publication, and
found that they rejected it!
As those of you who can read Spanish will be able to see, this note
has an excellent academic level and is not what one would call a red-
dripping call for socialism. Censorship and self-censorship in my
country is so strong, however, that no "serious" newspaper wanted to
Probably because the author shows that income distribution in Latin
America is so unfair that if we had the patterns of South-Eastern
Asia we would have one fifth of the poors we have now?
