unique contribution to the lives of working people in the community.ö

WHY START THE MARXIST SCHOOL OF SACRAMENTO?

The Marxist School of Sacramento is an educational forum for sharing
MarxÆs analysis of capitalism, vision of economic democracy, and strategies
for social change. The curriculum will include a lecture series, book
discussion groups, short courses, a video series and special events.
The Marxist School of Sacramento will offer experiences that draw on
MarxÆs views for replacing capitalism with a new kind of economy. His focus
on class society shows that the majority can make positive social change.
A Marxist analysis can reveal how the profit motive of a few makes life
more precarious for the many. A fresh look at MarxÆs ideas can help develop
a new view of a democratic economy, sharpen analyses of global capitalism,
and revive popular struggles to create a better world.
