Not only that. Our national anthem is a revolutionary song, much in the
tradition of La Marselleise. It was sung by the revolutionary troops of South
America as far North as the Llanos in Venezuela. It praises freedom from
oppression and struggle against the tyrants. It is not the property of the
oligarchs, it is the property of the Creole, Negro and Indian armies who
struggled against reaction and colonialism. The current version is quite
sanitized, but it still sounds brave and revolutionary:

Oïd, mortales, el grito sagrado,
Libertad, Libertad, Libertad,
Oíd el ruido de rotas cadenas,
Ved en trono a la noble igualdad

Hear, ye mortals, the sacred shout
Freedom, Freedom, Freedom
Hear the sound of broken chains
See noble equality in throne

Ya su trono dignísimo abrieron
Las Provincias Unidas del Sur
Y los libres del mundo responden
Al gran pueblo argentino salud!

Their most dignified throne have opened already
The United Provinces of the South [this is a direct reference to Latin American
									 unity]
And the free of the world answer
and salute the great Argentinean people.

Sean eternos los laureles
que supimos conseguir
Coronados de gloria vivamos
o juremos con gloria morir

Be the laurel wreath eternal
that we knew how to obtain.
Let us live with crowns of glory
Or let's swear in glory to die!

So that our nationalism is by definition internationalist. If "the free in the
world salute the great Argentinean people", it is not because of chauvinism. It
is because we deserve respect by the free peoples of the world.

That is our "national" anthem.
