When the purchased commodity produced by the industrial worker is
systematically stolen or traded or given away, assuming the effect is to
reduce profits for the company, does the worker experience theft because
reduction of business sales may lead to layoffs and/or wage cuts?

As for promotional costs, there is a question about the hit record companies
really take. First, income from their flagships cover much of this cost.
Second, they do very little promotion for the majority of the artists.
Third, they write losses off. Every business takes a hit when their
promotional campaigns fail to raise consumption. This is part of doing
business.
