Speaking of the 1981 hunger strike, this year is the 20th anniversary. It
will be interesting to see how the Provisionals commemorate their seven
men. I've heard that they may try to claim that the New Stormont is what
they gave their lives for. I sincerely hope not.
I'm the co-PRO of a commemoration committee put together by the brother of
Patsy O'Hara. We're trying to keep things non-denominational and focus on
the men rather than the current politics of the movements they belonged
to. That, I feel, is the only appropriate way to commemorate them.
