CB: This is a good joke, however, there has been a coup in the U.S. The
assassination of President Kennedy was a coup d'etat by rightwing elements
of the U.S. military industrial complex.

Note also in 1934-35 the attempted overthrow of FDR by the American Liberty
League, Committee for a Sound Dollar who attempted to recruit General
Smedley Butler to lead an army of 500,000 dispossed and pissed-off vets as
shock troops. The main leaders were DuPonts, JP Morgan, Henry ford and
Walker and Bush of Brown Brothers Harriman, also Al Smith, John Davis. More
available from the History Channel ("The Plot to Overthrow FDR) and from
Jules Archer's book The Plot to Take the White House (?)
