Bourgeois Opposition to Iraq War

There seems to be a battery of solid bourgeois characters -- including at
least one war criminal (Kissinger) -- in the USA who feel that Bush's plan
to wage war on Iraq is ill-advised and could lead to difficulties for US
imperialism.

Do list members think that there could be sufficient opposition in bourgeois
circles and institutions such as the US military, big business and the State
Department, to dissuade Bush from his adventure; a kind of 'quiet coup'
against him? Has there been any occasion in US history when a President
who's been seen as out of control has been reined in by powerful critical
bourgeois figures?
