As I said, see the correction -- what you are looking at is an old
website set up by a now defunct organization (I'm not sure whose work
the rhetoric of the old website is). I don't know what the rhetoric
of the new website will be like.

The main demand should be "Bring the Troops Home Now and End the
Occupation," no more, no less. The main reason that I might come to
embrace the demand and get involved in organizing for it, were I an
apolitical US service member, would be that I wouldn't want to endure
hardship and risk my life to help defend the occupation detested by
Iraqis, just to save Bush & Co.'s asses. The main reason that I
might come to embrace it and get involved in organizing for it, were
I an apolitical American military family member, would be that I
wouldn't want to see my loved one die in Iraq while helping defend
the occupation detested by Iraqis, just to save Bush & Co.'s asses.
Once involved, I might become interested in thinking about why things
are the way they are and seek a good explanation of it. In short,
political demands serve one and only one purpose -- to get folks
involved in organizing for them. Folks who are not involved in any
sort of organizing are effectively unreachable by even the best of
revolutionaries.
