The war on Iraq (news - web sites) at a glance:

_ Casualties: U.S. troops: 28 dead, seven captured, 24 missing. British
troops: 22 dead.

_ Deployed: 250,000 U.S. troops are deployed in support of combat operations,
as well as more than 47,000 coalition forces. Close to 90,000 U.S. troops are
now in Iraq, a senior defense official said.

_ Weaponry: Since the start of the war, U.S. forces have fired more than 600
Tomahawks and dropped more than 4,300 precision-guided weapons. On Thursday,
for the first time, two of the biggest bombs — 4,700-pound bunker-busters" —
were dropped on a communications tower in Baghdad.

_ Contributing: 49 countries supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

_ Iraqi troops estimate: 350,000.

_ Iraqi deaths: No estimate of military casualties. Iraq says 425 civilians
have been killed since the war began.

_ Iraqi prisoners of war: 4,000
