Maybe you speak truth, but you have offered no evidence, as asked for by
Eli; otherwise, how check factuality, context and circumstances if any in
extenuation or mitigation? How analyze historical and material conditions of
the assertion that people were arrested for "disagreeing with this or that
aspect of the Cuban gov'ts/CCP's policies." or "Almost every member of the
Cuban Revolutionary Social-Democratic Party was arrested at one time or
other" or "organizing workers outside the parameters of the Cuban Communist
Party or the official unions."?

To my mind, accepting such statements on their face [without the information
and the perspective contained, for instance, in Emile Schepers's, the Cuban
ambassador's or Lou's messages] is what has gotten these people to sign on
to the CPD indictment, at the time and the place [the US] that they did,
certainly indifferent or unmindful as to context.

Almost every member of the Cuban Revolutionary Social-Democratic Party was
arrested at one time or other. The most recent as the late 1990s (1999 I
think). None of them, in fact, were charged with being 'agents' of the US,
rather of organizing workers outside the parameters of the Cuban Communist
Party or the official unions.
