To fault Marxists for their "theoretical" utopian assumption that the earth
can sustain an unlimited population, while ignoring the practical barbarian
reality that has always and inevitably accompanied the adherents of
population control does a tremendous disservice to Marx, to yourself, to
this list, and to all of humanity.<

This is not a theoretical or philosophical issue, but a social, class
ideology used to justify and promulgate the most hideous of practices.

It cannot be discussed separate and apart from its real social history and
function.

Fine. The issue is "a social, class ideology used to justify and promulgate
the most hideous of practices." If not produce your data.

Define the carrying "capacity of the earth." The overproduction is capital.
The scarcity is the reverse reflection of capital - overproduction appearing
as scarcity.

The issues we face is not a question of civilization but an issue of property
- class relations.
