the Man; EDWARD W. SAID
(1935-2003)

Memorial ceremony in honor of the late Prof. Edward W.
Said will be held at:


Schoenberg Hall Auditorium, UCLA
Saturday, November 15, 2003

Distinguished speakers Prof. Najwa Qattan (LMU), Prof.
Joseph Mas'ad (Columbia University), Prof. Michael
Cooperson (UCLA), and Prof. Saree Makdisi (UCLA, also
Edward Said's nephew) will reflect on Said's life and
legacy, highlighting his monumental scholastic
achievements and his enduring commitment to the
Palestinian cause. The evening will feature performances
by members of UCLA Prof. Ali Jihad Racy's Near East Music
Ensemble and pianist Saree Qattan, as well as a poetry
recital by Shawki El-Zatma.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m.; Event will begin promptly at 7:30
p.m.

Admission is Free.

the 405 Fwy North,
and Exit Sunset Blvd. make a Right toward UCLA, pass
