The Amazing Grace of Elliot Abrams - what can a poor boy do ?

Well as regards these notes, I just collected a few facts together, but I am
just publishing my opinion on the list, and I have not edited the stuff
really well or fleshed out the argument properly, with all sorts of subtle
arguments and inferences and footnotes and niceties and abeyance to
academics with whom I would like to ingratiate myself. It is really up to
the American socialists to understand their own government, and understand
the Marxian theory of the "role of the individual in history" such as it
applies to the USA. I don't say I am an expert, I just do my best to
understand things as an ordinary human being, because it affects everybody
in the world, including me.

I am quite happy for somebody to use the information to write a better
story, and remove the glitches in what I wrote. It took me an afternoon on
the Internet, looking at a few sites, to get the data. It is all there. I
had encountered Abrams before in the 1980s, because of his role in Latin
America, but there's a lot more facts now. You don't really need any
sophisticated theory or vulgar dogma to see what is happening, the facts
speak for themselves, a bit of a stick-and-paste job and you're there.

While the American leftists are stargazing, or fighting and swearing at each
other, or engaging in games of one-upmanship, or moralising and whinging,
they are wasting a lot of time, and in a lot less time, the American
socialists can make very powerful arguments against the imperialist
murderers which anybody can relate to, without having to be indoctrinated
into any particular moral position.

I would invite any American interested in understanding the philosophy
behind American imperialism today to read the book "Present Dangers" by
Robert Kagan (Editor) and William Kristol (Editor), which summarises the
whole philosophy of christian-fundamentalist imperialism that inspires the
White House. Check out the details at:

You may say, isn't this a conspiracy theory ? Yes and no, these people have
a set of fundamentalist beliefs which they hold fanatically and are
asserting in a particular historical context and political situation, in
which they were gradually able to shift their own mates into positions of
power and responsibility. George W. Bush as a religious fundamentalist will
talk endless double talk. He will rail against "murderers" in regard to the
killed UN officials in Iraq, but say nothing about the genocide of the Iraqi
people over which he and his father presided. To naive people it all seems
arbitrary, but they fail to see the reasoning behind it.

The point is, rather than concentrate on petty-bourgeois personality
politics, you should get further into the story, and put all the facts in
perspective, so you can evaluate better what motivates these people. It is
not difficult to understand, provided you are prepared to do just a little
bit of research, just sitting behind your PC, and possibly read a few books.

The Dutch Socialist Party may not be revolutionary or Leninist enough
according to some, but the monthly SP magazine (The Tribune) has already
featured an important article on PNAC and the rise of the neo-conservatives,
which went out to every one of the 40,000 members of the SP. So even if
there are still sleepy Americans who don't know what's going in their own
country, we do.

Ev'rywhere I hear the sound of marching, charging feet, boy
'cause summer's here and the time is right for fighting in the street, boy
But what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock 'n' roll band
'cause in sleepy New York town
There's just no place for a street fighting man

Hey! think the time is right for a White House revolution
But where I live, the game to play is compromise solution
Well, then what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock 'n' roll band
'cause in dozy New York town
There's no place for a street fighting man

Hey! said my name is called disturbance
I'll shout and scream, I'll rail the cons, I'll rail at all their servants
Yeah but what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock 'n' roll band
'cause in sleepy New York town
There's no place for a street fighting man
