Whatever you might make of Foucault's political
trajectory, he still is a theorist of importance.
He is an influence on Deleuze and Guattari, and
they in turn are also important for Negri.
Anti-Oedipus is maddenly difficult to read at
times, but has moments that make the effort
worth the read IMHO. I have not yet attempted
'A Thousand Plateaus' but its on my shelf.
For a grasp of Deleuze and Guattari/Negri, it's helpful to understand
Spinoza's influence on their theory.
