The choice of Peter Camejo as vice-presidential candidate can only
improve the politics of the Nader campaign.

Among other things, Camejo, in his gubernatorial campaign in California,
came out in strong, unconditional defense of the rights of immigrants
with no kvetching about computer programmers from India and "controlling
our borders," such as were prominent in the Nader-Buchanan discussion.
His opposition to the Iraq war has been at least equally strong.

Camejo was a prominent immigrant rights activist in the late 1970s.

He is a highly capable propagandist for progressive ideas and struggles.

This has the potential of making the Nader campaign much more attractive
to youth, working people, and oppressed nationalities -- building on the
defiance of imperialist party pressure that Nader showed in deciding to
make the run.

The proof of the pudding will be in the eating, of course, but this
looks like a significant gain.
