[Marxism] Cuba's report to the UN's anti-terrorism committee

While the United Nations Human Rights Commission meeting in
Geneva Switzerland unfolds, Washington continues its decades
long campaign to get the commission to condemn Cuba. It would
stoop to any tactic however unscrupulous, and would accept any
critical decision, no matter how mild, and try to tell everyone
that the UN has condemned Cuba.

At least one member of Washington's delegation to the UNHRC is
in fact a terrorist himself. That is a man named Zuniga Rey.
This was documented in a letter by the Cuban ambassador in
Geneva which we reported yesterday to CubaNews readers:

---------------------------------------------------------
The letter quotes the 1999 report of UN special rapporteur
Bernales Ballesteros delineating Zuniga Rey´s attempt to
commit sabotage against Cuban hotels and hospitals, his
conviction in Cuba in 1974 for attempted infiltration to
commit murder and sabotage, as well as his involvement in
the sequester of Cuban child Elian Gonzalez in his role as
a member of violent groups in Miami, Florida, and in the
CIA.

Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque expressed Cuba´s
expectation that the Human Rights commission would take the
appropriate measures to prevent the paradoxical and
unethical presence of a proven terrorist on this
commission.
----------------------------------------------------------

Today, Cuba has made available its own detailed report on
the decades-long campaign of violent terrorism used by the
United States against Cuba. This report is now available at
the website of the Cuban mission to the United Nations and
will be of unusual interest. (Links to be provided below.)

This document, which spells out in encyclopedic detail both
the principal terrorist acts which have been committed
against Cuba since the triumph of the Revolution as well
as the specific legal steps the island has taken, treaties
signed and legislation adopted to defend itself against
terrorist attacks. I've reformatted it and printed it out
in a word document. It is LONG. It has over 37 THOUSAND
words. It's a virtual encyclopedia on this subject.

One item of interest is that hijacking is an offense for
which a convicted person may be eligible to receive the
death sentence. Thus, whether one agrees with the death
sentences carried out against three Cuban hijackers last
year, they were not subject to any extraordinary or any
ex-post-facto punishment.
