[Marxism] March 20 protest accounts

Here in Atlanta, we had a march/rally starting from the Israeli
consulate going to Piedmont Park. An IMCer did a count of the march and
said it was between 400-500, closer to 500. (For Atlanta, that's really
impressive.)

The march was also much more broad than it has been in the past; there
was a much higher proportion of people of color, as well as more
generational diversity.

There were also several vigils later in the evening; I didn't make any,
but I heard later that one in Decatur drew over 100 people, and another
at Atlanta University Center (a grouping of several historically black
colleges) drew about 75. (I didn't hear anything about Marietta--Jose?)

All in all, I have to say Atlanta was a great success. You can consider
a protest "successful" here with a couple hundred people; not only did
we have hundreds out (including the vigils), but the diversity of the
demonstrations showed a major victory in the anti-war movement linking
up with people of color here.
