[Marxism] Too damned colonialist for words

OK, Lou. I'm not really up to such an in-depth analysis of the problem
either. That said, I don't think a discussion of the circumstances and
experiences of other socialists is "colonialist" simply because those
doing the discussing don't share a gender, national or racial identity
with the subject of the discussion. Let what they say rise or fall on
the merits of the arguments they make.
An entire generation of black radicals inclined towards socialism
emerged from the 1960s, but their movement was isolated, decapitated and
destroyed. This defeat didn't just effect blacks or just Americans.
Socialists of any race or nation have a responsibility to spare no
effort to avoid a repetition of that. We agree, I think, that those who
went through the process or black radicals who stand to suffer most
directly from a repetition might have the best insights as to how to go
about this, but it's not automatically the case.
