Eli:

Really, Louis? And which demonstrations of 10, 20, 50, 100,000 have been
organized by an "Internet mailing list" (nevertheless Marxmail)?

David McDonald:

Feb. 15, 2003 was substantially built over the internet. Particularly in the
very latter stages of building, the UfPJ website was instrumental in
building the word, in providing propaganda materials electronically. It's
website was as close as you could come to a definitive list of cities where
actions occurred on that day.

Every antiwar coalition since then in Seattle, successful or not, has been
based on electronic communication in part. Sometimes portions of the
discussions are deferred to listservs.

It doesn't work very well because the politics are screwy, but the Green
Party of the US runs its central committee electronically.
