On the other hand, I'm with Herbert Marcuse, who claimed that there was far 
from enough hedonism under capitalism. The most hedonistic people are the 
richest, and they are having a whale of a time. The lucky devils.


Marx was correct to reject hedonism too. The good life
and a good time are not the same things. The example
you gave, of tiring of your sexual partner and walking
out on him or her when they cease to arouse you is an
example of the selfish hedonism that is prevelant
these days. But with the mass commodification of sex
under late capitalism and it's selfish individualism
we can expect human relationships to become more and
more shallow.
