But Karl Marx read the bourgeois press in order to glean data and quotes
that he needed to write his own articles. All Walter seems interested in is
crossposting articles with a brief introduction. If Walter or anybody else
thinks that there is no qualitative difference between Cuban and Chinese
society, I invite them to write down their thoughts. We have a 35,000 byte
limit to Marxmail but would gladly override it for a contribution of that
sort. I wrote 2500 words making the case that China was capitalist here:
http://www.columbia.edu/~lnp3/mydocs/state_and_revolution/SocialismChina.htm.
I also tried to explain why Cuba was socialist in 8,000 words here:
http://www.columbia.edu/~lnp3/mydocs/state_and_revolution/cuba.htm.

But then again, I might be the only one stupid enough to think that this
mailing list should be geared to Marxist analysis rather than a dumping
ground for crosspostings. That's one of the reasons I am seriously thinking
about abandoning it. I have a book project that I would really like to
start soon and am growing weary of refereeing flame wars, reminding people
to clip text, etc.
