1. Where is the URL to this analysis 'Lebanon, Syria, Iran and the
Coming Imperialist Re-Division of the World'? I link to the message
URL and get "The message you requested is temporarily unavailable
because this group has exceeded its download limit. Please try again
later."

2. What is perhaps most disturbing is that the "progressive" media such
as Pacifica radio (KPFK,etc.) or sites such as www.commondreams.org,
which have routinely blocked any serious anti-capitalist, Marxist, and
socialist viewpoints. Endless news and discussion about what is
happening but never any serious analysis as to WHY "bad things" are
happening.

3. Perhaps a Marxist media collective could be created to produce
regular programs for distribution through Pacifica, community radio
stations or the sale of CDs and DVDs. An entirely new generation of
working people must be educated into understanding why their standard of
living is being destroyed, why unending war, why Global Warming, why no
health care, why destruction of public schools, etc. Without this effort
nothing is possible. We are living in a period as never before when the
slogan "Socialism or Barbarism" must be understood.

4. My own view towards a Marxist understanding might follow this:
4.a: The Project for the New American Century(PNAC).The collapse of the
Soviet Union leaves the US military super-power. This is seen as the
unique historical opportunity to secure global hegemony. The signatories
of the Statement of Principles (Wolfowitz, Cheney, Rumsfeld, many
others) and supporters (Democratic and Republican) seize total control
of the Federal Government and implement the PNAC program. Economic
treaties such as NAFTA are implemented. 9/11 provides the spark to
trigger the global war.

4.b The Economic underpinings of WHY Project for the New American
Century? U.S. capitalism, since 1970 has declined in some sectors,
transformed itself in others. Manufacturing has declined in US and gone
to China and Asia. Computer technology has enabled capitalism globally
to efficiently minimize labor intensive activity. Exxon, Wal-Mart, the
military-industrial complex are all doing great.

5. Globalization means all workers world-wide are competing against each
other. NAFTA (a continuation of 50 years of subversion and war in
Central America) has caused the massive immigration of undocumented
workers into the U.S. from Mexico and Central America. Labor union
membership has declined, unions become "business-partners" to capital.

6.Without an anti-capitalist world view, U.S.labor does not create any
new organizations of working people to fight back. Workers are in
massive credit card debt, housing becomes unaffordable, no health care,
etc. The class war attack is going on in Europe, Asia, Australia, etc.
as social services are attacked, pensions destroyed.short work weeks are
ended, etc.

6. The only consistently valuable daily news from a Marxist perspective
that I found on the web remains the World Socialist Web Site at
http://www.wsws.org . Here is a recent article, among many, about
Lebanon.

The real aims of the US-backed Israeli war against Lebanon

http://www.wsws.org/articles/2006/jul2006/leba-j21_prn.shtml

7. Marxism is about changing the world to end capitalism, promote
socialism among working people. If we cannot end capitalism, capitalism
will end us.
