[Marxism] Fascist intellectuals?

The thread's interesting because I'm now reading a recent biography of H.L.
Mencken, who chose to be almost willfully blind to Hitlerism.

But almost each and every one of these intellectuals who supported fascism
had already become seriously infected with the disease of lesser evil-ism.
That is, they saw the status quo as unworkable and were distracted by the
noise and color of these right wing paramilitary social movements.

Big pretty banners, lots of noise, boots and cute uniforms...yeah,
"intellectuals."
