[Marxism] The Venezuelan PSU

I am afraid the Venezuelan Partido Socialista Unificado will
disappoint all those who expect it to become a Stalinist formation
like its similar in old Cuba.

It will resemble, methinks, the Partido Peronista in Argentina during
the 1950s, with the good news being that it will not become a ghostly
autocratic political formation, but a deeply democratic one.

One of the main organizers of that party, Carlos Escarrá Malavé, a
former member of the Venezuelan Communist Party and a man of working
class origin who managed to become a first rate constitutionalist,
delivered a speech at our Arturo Jauretche center in Buenos Aires
recently. The deep currents in Latin America reached Escarrá through
his mother, who talked to him while a child about a great movement
that was taking part in Argentina under the auspices of Perón and his
wife Evita.

Copies of the main sections of that speech are available in Spanish
on offline demand. It was published on the second issue of
"Política", the quarterly publication we have created to rally all
the forces of a revolutionary, patriotic and socialist-prone leaning
in Argentina (and in South America, if our ambitions are fulfilled).

Those interested in receiving the publication may also contact me
offline.
