Ignoring that question for a moment though - i am interested in knowing
why Michael A. Lebowitz describes Judas as the first capitalist. I am
used to hearing Jesus described as the "first socialist" (and first
anarchist, and first communist, and first feminist, and first
environmentalist, ad nauseum... one would think the guy walked on water
or something!), but Judas being the first capitalist? Definitely not my
reading of the New Testament, a book i had the mixed pleasure of having
to read overb and over again in Catholic school...
I wait in anxious theological anticipation!
You'll have to keep waiting--- it was Chavez who offered this up, and
I don't know whether it was one of his rhetorical flights or one of
his many jokes.
On the other hand, would you settle for a merchant-capitalist?
