A better question might be why anyone would want to contest the Greek claim,
as the nature of western civilization has hardly been entirely positive.....

this, but I may be wrong."
Yes, Bernal's book was deliberately smudged arguments and used imprecise
terms to make its point. And only a civilization with attention deficit
issues would view it as original. Sections of the more radical French
freemasonry was founded on the idea of Egyptian origins. In the U.S.,
abolitionists and free blacks made the case as well...more honestly than did
Bernal, I might add.
