Subject: A Lecture by the Consul General of Venezuela

Would you be so kind as to forward this announcement to the list? I'm on web
mail today.

Thanks in advance.

The following event will be held at Roosevelt University, 430 S. Michigan
Ave., Chicago, IL. The Congress Lounge is on the second floor, just to the
right of the Michigan Avenue elevators for those who are not familiar with
the Auditorium Bldg.

It would be an excellent show of solidarity with the Bolivarian revolution
if as many of us leftists are able to attend this lecture. I, myself, am
looking forward to this very informative talk.

Social Justice Policy in Venezuela: A Lecture by Martin Sanchez, Consul
General of Venezuela, July 12
(From: Steve Balkin, Professor)

Martin Sanchez, the Consul General of Venezuela in Chicago, will speak about
Venezuelan domestic policy on social change, poverty alleviation, and
economic development. This event will take place Wednesday, July 12, from 6
to 7:30 p.m. in the Congress Lounge. It is free and open to the public. Time
will be provided for questions.

For background, attendees can see the 2003 Irish award-winning documentary,
“The Revolution Will Not Be Televised”, which covers the brief 2002 coup
d'état that tried to remove President Chavez from office. DVD copies are
available for free at the Consulate of Venezuela. The video can also be
viewed at http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5832390545689805144

This event is sponsored by the Roosevelt University Department of Economics
and the Mansfield Institute for Social Justice.
