Shortly after Carrol forwarded "Socialist Men, Muslims, and the 'Woman
Question,'" my subscription was speedily restored.

Even with me back, though, this listserv, as well as Doug Henwood's
LBO-talk, still has fewer regular women participants than Iran's
parliament (4.1% of Iran's MPs are women according to
<http://www.ipu.org/wmn-e/classif.htm>).  :->

If that was really the motivation, you should have said so from the
get-go -- that would have been honest, immature as such a response is.
 However, your response to me on this subject hardly differs from you
response to me during the debate on the Brenner/Wood school of
thinking about the origins of capitalism. At that time, too, you were
acting up.

I find it very interesting that, though both you and Doug are
subscribed to PEN-l and I've said much the same things about Iran on
that listserv as well, both of you prefer not to attack me there:
instead, you unsubscribed me to shut me up here, and Doug can't stop
talking about me in my absence on LBO-talk, according to reports I've
received.

I have also found it fascinating that you cc'ed your tirade to John
Mage and John Bellamy Foster:

When you don't like what a woman is saying, appeal to "male authority
figures"?  :->

I concluded a long time ago that you, like Henwood and many men, are
incapable of debating with women who disagree with you in good faith.
That's been the experience of many women on the Left, so that's why
most left-wing women don't gravitate to left-wing fora presided over
by men and they have built their own.
