I think it boils down to behavior.  If the Sparts swapped their party
line with News and Letters types tomorrow, but still acted the same,
the Sparts would still be the crazy ones.  It has nothing to do with
political differentiations and permutations.  You can think space ship
sightings are a sign of the triumph of socialism on other planets and
still not be bat-shit crazy.  When you begin interrupting speakers and
screaming about UFOs from other planets, that's when you begin to look
crazy.
