I wanted to add a few cents to this. My view is that I'm glad this issue is being resolved, really glad. The N. Korean people have suffered enough under what has got to be the most draconian form of "socialism in one country" on Earth. But, respecting their self-determination (even, such as it is, a decision by ONE man) means that the country may stabilize enough to start solving so many of it's problem. I'm still not clear how the accord goes to solving the energy crisis there. Plus, *anything* that calms the military situation down there has got to be a good thing.

What I suspect is that they may run power lines from S. Korea's burgeoning nuclear power industry (they will soon approach France as a country that gets 80% of it's power from Generation III nukes) across the DMZ to the North. But I really don't know. If people come across more information on this please post it here or send it to me directly.
