You can say the same thing about efforts to build a Left-alternative to the
Democrats, they have failed over and over again. 20th century attempts to
socialism have failed. Did that mean "Dr. House had the wrong diagnosis,
gives his patient the wrong treatment, and the patient dies...". If
anything history has shown Camejo and Harrington both to be wrong. There
was never a mass party to the left-of-the-Democrats formed, and the
Democrats launched a bunch of cutbacks into social programs. (Then again do
you think Ford would have given up the Canal Zone?)

Obviously work *outside *the electoral realm is most important for
revolutionaries forces, I just don't understand why people are wasting their
time in the Green Party campaign, etc. You can't build a labor party
without workers and the workers are in the Democratic Party. Build a
campaign to fight for them in the Democratic Party; look at the Jesse
Jackson platform in the 1980s, I would say much of that platform is to the
LEFT of Nader's platform in 2008.

As for the hawkish, anti-communism of Harrington, I think it is not
defensible. The USSR was an anti-imperialist bloc that despite all its flaws
checked the ambitious of international capital and the United States.

I want you to show me where a 3rd Party has been of any consequence, on the
basis of realignment or anything, since the 1890s. I want you to tell me
that if the Christian Right had tried to rally in the Constitution Party
whether they would have been a force in American politics like they were for
the past decade +.

I'm in a rush, I'll reply at length later.
