Because the version presented in the article forwarded by Louis is
fiction. This is just another grand conspiracy theory -- and note,
prominent among the co-conspirators would have to be Chavez and Fidel,
who would certainly have known what the score was, and --apparently--
theb FARC, for this isn't anything they are claiming. Oh and the
hostages, who would certainly have been told if they were about to be
freed (instead of handcuffed) to secure their cooperation, but for the
conspiracy to work, even have had to agree to make a fictional
recreation video presenting the Colombian government's version,
showing them handcuffed getting into the chopper and so on.

Seriously, Counterpunch's credibility, on a thermometer of 1 to 100,
just broke the bulb going negative.

A responsible and at least barely sentient editor would not have
allowed this to appear under their masthead.
