I don't know about other socialist groups like SLP, SWP, etc. but I've
never seen the SP "defend its campaign against the Nader campaign" or
other socialist groups' campaign in the way you describe. Have you
read the interview with SP candidate Moore? He explicitly *supports*
Nader in the interview!

It seems that maybe you had a bad experience with some socialist
"grouplings" (as you call it) and you are extrapolating/generalising
it to cover all socialist parties/groups, including ones you aren't
familiar with closely. I've never seen anyone in the SP (I know quite
a few people who are in the SP) claim to be "the one and only true
socialists". In fact (gasp!) the SP even allows its members to join
other political parties if they want to (Solidarity does so too, in
fact). Not even bourgeois parties allow so much latitude to their
members, usually. So the SP is extremely open and heterodox.
