[Marxism] Rescuing Lenin from Leninists

To clarify, in case Joaquin misread the previous discussion, I do not
now nor have I ever objected to the handle of cheglitz. In fact, I'm
thinking of adopting one myself. How does "leninoise" sound? How
about "cannonfadder"?

Every once in a while, I think that I should stop cheating a socialist
organization out of my dues. Then I read a thread like this and come
away convinced that basically good people tend to check their judgment
at the door when they join a group, particularly in this period.

Some years back, after talking to Bill Pelz, I was literally inches
from joining the Socialist Party. The envelope was addressed and
sitting under the checkbook, an arm's reach from the keyboard here.
Then, I wound up on a list where a member of the SP person was
bantering with some of the Democrats about what a villain Nader was.

The notion that they aren't running against other candidates, just as
they're running against the Republicans or Democrats just numbs my
brain. Have words no meaning any more? Why would any party bother
running candidates if they already had acceptable alternatives at the
polls?
